Traveling Commercial Painting Laborer/Assistant

We are hiring a Traveling Commercial Painting Laborer/Assistant to ensure operational excellence as we scale the company nationwide. The primary responsibilities of this role are to support the painting team in various tasks related to commercial painting projects. The ideal candidate will have the willingness to learn and work collaboratively with the painting crew.

The Impact You'll Make in This Role:

The Traveling Commercial Painting Laborer/Assistant is a skilled role and in this position, you will help to deliver high-quality painting services. The ideal Traveling Commercial Painting Laborer/Assistant will assist painters with surface preparation, equipment setup, cleanup, and other general labor duties.

As PaintJet’s Traveling Commercial Painting Laborer/Assistant, you will:

Surface Preparation:

• Assist in preparing surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and priming as directed by the painting team.
• Fill holes, cracks, and imperfections in surfaces using appropriate fillers or sealants.
• Mask and protect adjacent areas from paint splatter or damage.

Equipment Setup and Cleanup:

• Help painters in setting up and dismantling painting equipment, including brushes, rollers, sprayers, and ladders.
• Clean and maintain painting tools and equipment after use.
• Dispose of waste materials and debris in designated containers.

Material Handling:

• Transport paint cans, brushes, rollers, and other materials to and from the worksite.
• Mix paint and coatings according to instructions provided by the painting team.
• Assist in loading and unloading materials from vehicles or storage areas.

Safety Compliance:

• Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as instructed by the painting team.
• Report any safety hazards or concerns to supervisors immediately.

Assistance to Painters:

• Provide assistance to painters as needed, such as holding ladders, moving scaffolding, or handing them tools and materials.
• Follow instructions from the painting team and carry out tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Learn painting techniques and procedures through on-the-job training and guidance.

General Labor Duties:

• Perform general labor tasks as assigned by supervisors or project managers.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the worksite throughout the project.
• Assist in other construction-related tasks as required.

Education & Work Related Experience

• Basic understanding of safety practices
• Previous commercial painting experience preferred; on-the-job training will be provided
• Moderate proficiency with email, Google sheets, MS Office Suite preferred
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred

Target Pay: $18.00/hr, full-time

Work Hours: This position requires the incumbent to be available during core business hours

Work Location: Remote with travel to job sites regularly

Travel Requirements: This position requires the incumbent to travel for up to 80% of the time
