Software Product Manager

Full-Time in Norfolk, VA - Remote OK - Mid Level - Engineering - $120k - $150k

PaintJet is redefining the industrial painting market by introducing advanced robotics, AI and material sciences to optimize the coating process. Our automated approach tackles the systemic labor shortage by focusing on increasing painter productivity and precision application while reducing material waste. We are hiring a Software Product Manager to ensure operational excellence as we scale the company nationwide. The primary role of the Software Product Manager is to define workflows and drive prioritized requirements for Product Increment (PI) objectives. In this versatile role, you will partner with the CTO and key operations personnel to identify product requirements, conduct research, and hands-on testing with existing software solutions. You will assist in building an operational foundation to support PaintJet’s high-growth model. This position is best suited for someone with UX and Agile development experience.

The Impact You'll Make in This Role:

The Software Product Manager is internally a highly visible role responsible for helping PaintJet become an exponentially scalable organization. In this position, you will have a direct impact on the company’s report generation and data capture, and site progress updates intended to drive organizational and operational excellence. The ideal Software Product Manager will have a background as an Product Owner or Manager in the financial software market.

As PaintJet’s Software Product Manager, you will:

  • Identifies product needs (requirements) based upon interviews with key internal stakeholders, product research, and hands-on testing with existing software solutions.
  • Define and drive prioritized requirements and PI objectives (and feature acceptance criteria).
  • Assist and document results of product verification and validation.
  • Convert product strategies into requirements and prototypes.
  • Collaborate in the UX design, including user flows and wireframes.
  • Obtain product vision buy-in by internal key stakeholders and users.
  • Establish feature acceptance criteria. Work with product owners to scope and prioritize development activities based on business impact and delivery requirements.
  • Own and prepare training documentation and internal workshops.

Education & Work Related Experience

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent; Master degree in CS preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience as a product manager (or product owner) developing enterprise-scoped software development using Agile methodology (throughout an entire lifecycle).
  • Several years’ experience as a software developer within an Agile-managed team
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence work tools
  • Hands-on experience in UX design, testing, and optimization
  • Experience in web service integration, such as Azure or AWS

Target Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 annually

Work Hours: This position requires the incumbent to be available during core business hours for Taiwan

Work Location: Remote

Travel Requirements: Occasional travel within the U.S. (20%)
