Traveling Foreman

Full-Time in United States - Remote OK - Associate - Operations - $70k - $90k

PaintJet is redefining the industrial painting market by introducing advanced robotics, AI and material sciences to optimize the coating process. Our automated approach tackles the systemic labor shortage by focusing on increasing painter productivity and precision application while reducing material waste. We are hiring a Traveling Foreman to ensure operational excellence as we scale the company nationwide. The primary role of this working, painting foreman is to lead, direct and work with the field painting and coatings staff on projects around the country. In this versatile role, you will partner with the Operations Manager and key operations personnel to oversee the day-to-day field operations of both sub-contracted and direct personnel. You will assist in building an operational foundation to support PaintJet’s high-growth model. This position is best suited for a flexible, action-oriented person who is self-driven and thrives in ambiguous settings.

The Impact You'll Make in This Role:

The Traveling Foreman is a highly visible role responsible for helping PaintJet become an exponentially scalable organization. In this position, you will enforce company policies and practices, manage subcontractors' work product in representation of PaintJet onsite, and keep us compliant as per the contract for specific projects as directed by PaintJet’s Superintendent and/or Operations Manager. The ideal Traveling Foreman will have ability to read basic blueprints and specifications, along with proficiency in textured coatings, drywall painting, warehouse environments, and tilt panel construction.

As PaintJet’s Traveling Foreman, you will:

  • Supervise painting and coatings field staff in accordance with PaintJet’s policies
  • Train, plan, assign, and direct work field staff’s work; addressing complaints and resolving issues onsite
  • Oversee management of material use onsite within project material budget
  • Oversee onsite safety protocol and administration for all PaintJet staff and subcontractors
  • Maintain jobsite OSHA compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance with client safety staff
  • Maintain knowledge of commercial coatings trends, best practices, code changes, and new technologies in construction field services
  • Advise and assist PaintJet Superintendents and PM’s with project and jobsite management issues
  • Keep up to date on overall activities of the company, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions with field staff where applicable and within job scope for project delivery
  • Responsible for planning, organizing, and coordination of daily activities and work assignments for the onsite team
  • Accurately track and report daily work hours for crew, equipment utilization, and quantities for the work performed.

Education & Work Related Experience

  • High School diploma or GED required; Apprentice or tech school degree preferred
  • 3+ years of foreman experience and proven commercial painting experience with expertise in textured coatings, office painting, warehouses, and tilt panel construction required
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints required
  • Bilingual preferred
  • 30-hour OSHA preferred
  • Moderate proficiency with email, Google sheets, MS Office Suite preferred
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred
  • Lift, Lull and Boom training and certification preferred
  • Understanding of operational and financial drivers that impact operational success

Target Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 annually + potential productivity bonus

Work Hours: This position requires the incumbent to be available during core business hours

Work Location: Remote with travel to job sites regularly

Travel Requirements: This position requires the incumbent to travel for up to 80% of the time
